250th Battle of Lexington
April 19, 2025, marks the 250th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. The first shots of the American Revolution would lead to the birth of a new nation. As John Adams said, the Battle of Lexington “changed the instruments of warfare from the pen to the sword.”
In association with the Lexington Historical Society, Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours is offering a special 250th Anniversary Tour to make a deep dive into the original story of the American Revolution, and giving YOU a front row spot for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The anniversary is sure to be attended by numerous dignitaries and be the focus of international attention. On the 100th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, President Ulysses Grant attended the re-enactment. On the 200th Anniversary, President Jerry Ford visited Lexington. We don’t know who will be there for the 250th, but this is your chance to be a part of it.
The trip will be led by historians Chris Anderson and Rick Beyer, co-hosts of History Happy Hour. Chris is the London-based senior historian of Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours with a tendency to take the King’s side in looking at the Revolution. Rick leads our American Revolution tours. He created the Lexington Historical Society’s guidebook and orientation film, First Shot: The Day the Revolution Began, and definitely favors the rebels. Get ready for sparks to fly!
